Sunshine in the Villages is a group run by Dani Hritac and his team in Hunedoara, Romania. We have worked with the Sunshine in the Villages team since Vision Romania was created in 2008 and it is this team that we run the camps at Casa Harului with. Having got to know them over the years we became aware of the amazing work they do in the community and offered to support them in their work.
Every weekend, both on Saturday & Sunday, they visit several villages surrounding the city where they do bible groups with some of the disadvantaged children. They are a group of individuals with a real passion for their work and they do so tirelessly. They create sketches, games, and crafts for the children and offer them support in many different ways. They do this all voluntarily and did so using their own resources and to a lesser scale before Vision Romania got involved. Now Vision Romania provides a hardship fund to be used when the group becomes aware of any of the families in the village needing food or clothes etc. Funds are also provided to cover the cost of petrol to get the group to the villages and to provide games and crafts for the children.
It is the children from these villages that come to the July camp that Vision Romania is also involved in.
Sunshine in the Villages also visit a local orphanage in the city of Hunedoara and take the children there on outings and offer them support.
